The Brand
By Maram

A sea that has been healing people for four thousand years.
Herod came here. So did Cleopatra, by most accounts. The Dead Sea is the oldest recorded spa on earth, and the reason is chemical rather than mythical: at four hundred and thirty metres below sea level, in a basin with no outlet, water has spent three million years evaporating and leaving its minerals behind.
What remains is thirty-four percent mineral — magnesium, calcium, potassium, bromide — against roughly three percent for the Mediterranean. Twenty-one minerals in total, twelve of which are found in no other body of water.

I wanted to send my friends the sea I grew up beside.

A mark that is stitched, not printed.
The house mark — a B and an M sharing a stem, with an olive branch through it — is embroidered onto the towel that ships inside every ritual box. It is the one part of the packaging that is meant to outlive the products.

Four objects, made slowly.
By Maram began as a small run made for people the founder knew personally, which is still how it is treated. The mud and salt are taken from the Jordanian shoreline. The jars are filled, labelled and boxed by hand.
Nothing has been added to make these products smell like something they are not. There is no fragrance in the range, which is the single decision that most limits how many people will like it — and the one we are least willing to reverse.
